Love Story begins with the Mischievous, Clever, Charming, a Daredevil
and the HERO (Varun Dhawan) who falls in love with Sunaina (Ileana
D'cruz). How can a Hero's love story be complete without a villain! So
walks in Angad (Arunoday Singh) the corrupt cop, who wants to forcibly
marry Ileana and to make things more spicy also does Ayesha (Nargis
Fakhri) who is madly in love with our Hero.
A massy entertaining romantic drama ensues, which takes Our Hero from the mountainous Ooty, to the fun college campus of Bangalore, and then to a beautiful mansion, in gorgeous Thailand. | |

What the director fails to remember is that much of his comedies banked entirely on the actor's fan following. Whether it was Govinda’s quirky style or Salman Khan’s charming moves, they each added a unique flavour to the Dhawan comedy. David’s not-so-little boy, however, lacks that kind of talent or charisma to make these senseless rom-coms work. He, in fact, turns this comedy into a tragedy, unintentionally of course, despite earnestly following dad’s rulebook on heroism. Don’t step in. Not if you have a choice.

Visit Site for moreThe first half is designed to display Dhawan Jr as the ultimate Bollywood hero material. While the first half is amusing, the second half gets sluggish in the last 20 minutes. But full marks to Dhawan for carrying a comedy with a questionable plot till the finish line. He lays on the charm thick and nice. And if that didn’t seem to work, he just took off his shirt. Watch this if you like films that don’t challenge you to think.
